Philosophy In today's hectic modern world it is unusual to find a person striving to maintain the traditional perspective of the Martial Arts. Master Tapia does just that - he lives the Martial Arts. His patient but strict and thorough instruction pulls no punches. He demands the utmost from his students. Everyone must learn respect, develop individual self-discipline and follow the tenets of Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit. Students learn and are encouraged to live by the Taekwondo Moral Code.

Benefits for Youth As the parent of a potential student you have the unique opportunity to enhance your child's lifestyle and positively impact everyone around them. From the beginning students are taught the foundation and the meaning of things like family, friendship, courage, courtesy, respect, responsibility and compassion. In an age when "manners" and proper behavior seem to be ever less evident, Master Tapia insists on courteous and respectful behavior from his students. At World Academy young Taekwondo students don't just acquire "fighting skills" and better physical conditioning. The confidence, focus and discipline our students develop in practicing the Martial Arts carries over into other areas of their lives. In addition to gaining strength and endurance that improves their athletic condition our students also improve their performance in the classroom. Their interrelationship skills improve. They are more polite and respectful of others. In short, they become model citizens. Many parents report that, although they brought their children to World Academy for physical training, they keep them at World Academy because of the moral and behavioral benefits. You too will become more involved in their education. Master Tapia rewards the diligent. He acknowledges the prompt and regular attendee. He recognizes the sincere and honest efforts of his charges.

Benefits for Adults Even those who have never participated in sports or practiced a Martial Art can benefit enormously from training in Taekwondo. Taekwondo training involves the complete coordination of the mind and the body. Taekwondo training will sharpen your mental agility, focus and attention to detail while improving agility, coordination, stamina and general physical condition. The enhanced mental and physical conditioning coupled with the meaningful self-defense abilities you will acquire as a Taekwondo practitioner will inevitably result in increased self confidence and peace of mind. Beyond the mere physical benefits and the acquisition of defense skills, the ultimate benefit of Taekwondo training is achieved when the student attains complete mastery of themselves and true harmony with the world around them. This is the great "unadvertised" benefit obtainable from Taekwondo training. Continued training in Taekwondo undeniably leads to worthwhile, beneficial improvement in every other area of the Martial Artist's life. The more the Martial Artist is able to internalize the training, the greater the benefit. Whether your interest is fun, fitness, self-defense, competition or personal improvement, Taekwondo training has much to offer.
