Stuart Blue with Han Min Jok GM In Sun Seo
ATHLETE PROFILE       -      STUART BLUE
2004 AAU National Bronze Medalist
2005 AAU Nevada State Kyroogi and Poomse Champion
2004 AAU Arizona State Kyroogi and Poomse Champion
Stuart with Hapkido GrandMaster  Seo, In Sun
President, Han Min Jok World Kido Federation
Stuart Blue  became a National Championship Medallist at age 9,  winning the
Third Place Bronze Medal in 8-9 year old Intermediate Olympic Sparring at
the 2004 AAU National Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The achievement came just seven months and three days after the then Blue
Belt began training under
Kukkiwon 6th Dan Master George Tapia.
Stuart has lived in Las Vegas since 1999.

He is an active member of Congregation Adat Ami and an
avid student of Hebrew and Jewish Studies.

In the Academic Arena Stuart has been recognized by
Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn for outstanding achievement
in Math.

A  7th Grade Honor Roll student  at the
 Odyssey Charter
School, Stuart is has completed an "advanced progress"
program challenging 8th grade level curriculum in Math and
Social Studies as well as the 9th Grade Honor Course in
Algebra.

Stuart attributes his academic acheivements to the
self-control, discipline and mental focus he has gained as a
Martial Arts practitioner.

An all around athlete, Stuart also trains to compete in
Track and  Powerlifting. In pursuit of his interest in No
Holds Barred MMF fighting
or the UFC he cross-trains in
Hapkido, JiuJitsu, Boxing and Muay Thai with some of  Las
Vegas' top fighters and coaches.

Stuarts goals for the future  include fighting in the UFC,
representing the US in multiple sports at the 2009 Maccabee
Games in Israel, and some day immigrating to Israel to
train with his mentor the Abir Aluf and Kook Sul
GrandMaster Yehoshua Sofer.
Stuart first walked into Master Tapia's dojang in October, 2003 at age 8.  He
was then a chubby, uncoordinated, 106 pound couch potato, incapable of
performing a single sit-up or push-up.  Within weeks he had become a serious
Martial Artist and a dedicated amateur athlete.

On the road to the 2004 National Championship Stuart dropped 20 pounds to
weigh in at 86 pounds.

Due to administrative errors made at the 2004 State Qualifier Stuart , then a
Novice 7th Kup, was obliged to compete at the National Championship in the
Intermediate Division. Even so, he managed to win the Bronze fighting against
nine 5th and 4th Gup athletes with vastly more experience. This set the tone
for the rest of Stuarts "color belt" career.  As a Novice and Intermediate
ranked athlete the dedicated Olympic fighter repeatedly "fought up",
defeating higher ranked and more experienced fighters including a 2004 round
robin series of matches against three Black Belts where the then Green Belt
won three out of four matches.

Stuart attained
Kukkiwon rank of 1st Poom on November 22, 2005 just 25
months after he began training in Tae Kwon Do.  The intense young Martial
Artist also continues to advance in rank in the Korean art of
Hapkido and the
Isreali
ABIR combat system.

In March 2006 Stuart took leave from his training in the LAITF High
Performance Program to concentrate on training to fight in
No-Holds-Barred
MMA
competition. For four months he worked on ground fighting skills with
Grappling Hall of Famer
Marc Laimon and MMA fighter  Ulysses Gomez  at
Cobra Kai Jiu Jitsu.
He returned to the High Performance Program in June
2006. he continues to train KickBoxing with Pan-American Champion, Master
George Fuller.

Stuart entered his first no-holds-barred MMA fight at the
California
Pankration Championships
on May 7, 2006 in Santa Ana, California. He
currently fights as a Welterweight at 107 pounds.
